2025 garden plans

Hello friends 

I'm Mrs Columbia, and I'm new to being a wife, mother, and trying to be a homesteader. I want to share my story so I can look back over the years at all that's changed, and we have accomplished. 

 

This week, I built my greenhouse. We keep in the bedroom as that's the only south facing window.  Other than the one in the kitchen and our kitchen is way too small. For a green house to give you an idea, we have a 30 something year old trailer. That didn't have a dishwasher or working washing machine. We put in a portable washer and dishwasher that we have to keep in the kitchen as it hooks to the sink and doesn't fit in the bathroom.

I planted rosemarry and pepers on monday and Tuesday. I planted tomatoes and Tyme. As of when I'm making this post, I plan to plant basil parsley and Oregano next week, and the week after that, I will plant watermelon cucumber and zucchini. 

My garden layout plan is to have the Peas and beans growing on the fence wall and in the row next to them have sweet potatoes, then the next radish next row carrots two rows closer together. Onion next to two close rows or lettuce next a row with half being basil and parsley. A row with tomatoes with a marragolds plant in between each plant to keep off tomato hornworms.

On the other side of the gate pepers again with marragolds I'm hoping it will keep the bugs off just an experiment. Then a row with Tyme rosemarry and Oregano. A row with zucchini next cucumber, then a row of watermelon, all with marragolds around them. i have been told that flower keeps squash bugs away, and we are going to try.

Next to the garden, not inside the deer fence, we are going to plant a garden spot with just potatoes, and we are going to plant a few rows of corn. Up a little hill away from the garden, we are going to plant a few rows of squash some pumpkins, and if we have more space, I doubt we will, but more potatoes.
