New year resolutions 2026

 I'm Mrs Columbia and I'm new to being a divorced single mother and trying to be a homesteader. I want to share my story so I can look back over the years at all that's changed and we have accomplished.

As the new year rolls around I have a few goals to accomplish. The first goal is to sell my truck it hasn’t been running right for months. I love my truck it’s just not worth trying to fix and it’s getting expensive. My second goal is to buy a car. Im  looking for a Chevy suburban. I think something with more room for my two kids and then groceries. 

My third goal is to have a steady income from a stay at home job by the end of the year 2026. I have been looking into a few options as well as this blog site. I would like to replace my income fully so I can be a working stay at home mother. My fourth goal is to have my loan payed off.

My fifth goal is to save enough for a down payment of a house with a few acres. I’m not looking for a huge expensive house. A little 3 bedroom one story house with 2-4 acres. Enough for a garden and some chickens. This doesn’t have to be our forever home but a good starting place. Instead of having to rent and paying the same for rent as a mortgage.

Those are my 2026 New Year’s resolutions. I can’t wait to see what all I accomplish. I would love to hear in the comments what everyone else’s New Year’s resolution are.

getting a divorce with kids

Hello friends,  I'm Mrs Columbia and I'm new to being a divorced single mother, and trying to be a homesteader. I want to share my story so I can look back over the years at all that's changed and we have accomplished.  Getting a divorce with children is hard I was a stay-at-home mother of 2 children for 5 years and I just started working a few months ago and I'm trying to afford an apartment. If I could get some income from these blog posts that would help me start up my cleaning company.  It has been very challenging for me lately working and trying to afford everything my kids have been used to. I feel like I'm failing as a mother as I don't see my children as often as I used to and when I do see them I'm tired from work and stressed about money and that's not fair for them. may day in the life

Hello friends  I'm Mrs Columbia, and I'm new to being a wife, mother, and trying to be a homesteader. I want to share my story so I can look back over the years at all that's changed and we have accomplished.  This morning we woke up late around 7 30 and it was a warm and sunny i started a load of towels and had my coffee on the front porch the children played in the yard after having a bowl of cereal for breakfast.  When the laundry was finished, I hung ut out on the clothes line. I washed our bed sheets and opened all the windows. After shaking out the area rugs, I decided that I wanted to play in the garden. This fall, when the leaves fell, I didn't get a chance to rake them out of my garden, so I did that and pulled any weeds. I picked out some for the larger rocks and cheeked on the strawberry plants and the rhubarb plants they are looking amazing.
